Ireland have officially named their 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and India. Senior opener and Ireland’s leading run-scorer in the format, Paul Stirling, will once again take charge of the side, while Lorcan Tucker has been appointed as the vice-captain.

They will kick off their campaign against Sri Lanka in Colombo on 8 February.

Out of the 15 players selected, 12 members also featured in the previous edition of the tournament. The squad sees fresh inclusions like:

This will be Ireland’s ninth appearance at the T20 World Cup. Their standout campaigns came in 2009 and 2022, when they progressed to the second round and claimed famous wins over West Indies and England.
🗣️ What the selectors said
National selector Andrew White expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, saying they are eager to improve on their 2024 performance and will face a tough group “with no fear”. He added that their recent experience in sub-continental conditions will help them prepare thoroughly for the challenge ahead.
