Everton master David Moyes says he “can’t understand” why Ashley Young wasn’t given a last- nanosecond penalty and that his side should have beaten Manchester United
What happed?
Everton’s Young was brought down in the box under the scrutiny of Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt in alternate- half cessation time but the home side’s calls for a penalty were ignored. Former Manchester United master Moyes was shocked by the decision and believes his side should have scored more pretensions after their 2- 2 draw with the Red Devils on Saturday.
What did David Moyes say?
“I suppose it should have been more. When we were 2- 0 over, we had chances to make it 3- 0. We were playing against a good platoon, I know they are n’t in a good position in the table. We did the stylish we could. I allowed Ashley Young’s jersey was really pulled. I allowed the decision on the field was the right bone and I was surprised the adjudicator transferred it to VAR. It went against us moment, we will not complain too important about it. It was a decision that went against us”
“moment was a good result, we lost two points and conceded two bad pretensions, but we played well in front of the suckers and overall I’m veritably happy”.
He latterly told journalists” I do not understand why the adjudicator makes a decision on the field. If it was absolutel
Big Picture
Despite squandering a 2- 0 lead at Goodison Park, Everton remain one place and one point ahead of floundering Manchester United– who have won just one of their last five Premier League games. The Toffees- who have 11 points from a possible 15- look to be moving forward under Moyes while Amorim’s Red Devils are faltering.
What next?
Everton will hope to get back to winning ways against Brentford on Wednesday, while Manchester United host weak Ipswich Town on the same day.
