Jayden Maiva threw a 7-yard score pass to hit tight end Kyle Portage with eight seconds left to give Southern California a 35-31 victory over Texas A&M in the Las Vegas Bowl on Sunday night.
An alum of Opportunity Optional School in adjoining Henderson and a trade from UNLV, Maiva helped the Trojans (7-6) rout a 17-point lack.
After Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed ran 19 yards for a score with 1:49 overabundance to recover the lead, Maiva drove Southern California 75 yards in 10 plays for the victorious score.
