The Hoia-Baciu Woodland (Romanian: Pădurea Hoia-Baciu, Hungarian: Hója erdő) is a backwoods arranged toward the west of the city of Cluj-Napoca, close to the outside segment of the Ethnographic Exhibition hall of Transylvania. The backwoods is utilized as a typical diversion objective. Lately a trekking park has been added to the woodland, alongside regions for different games like paintball, airsoft and arrow based weaponry.
Geology
The woodland covers an area of around 3 square kilometers. Its southern line starts on an edge which runs east-west. It doesn’t contain the lofty southern incline of the slope, which ascends from the Someșul Mic Waterway. Toward the north, the woodland closes on a smoother slant, which meets the Nadăș Waterway.
The eastern finish of the woodland is lined by the Tăietura Turcului, a fake valley that partitions the slope from north to south and contains a traffic street. The west finish of the backwoods arrives at the northeastern incline of the Dealul Melcilor, close by the Mujai Woods, which broadens further toward the west. The Bongar valley runs along the south finish of this side, which contains a fleece oak forest interesting toward the southern steppe. Part of the northeastern finish of the woodland is lined by Valea Lungă (Long Valley), which goes through Eocene limestone and structures Cheile Baciului, a valley with unbalanced slants. A little normal lake is found upstream from Cheile Baciului, at the boundary of the woodland. There are a few springs with consumable water at the north edge of the woodland, in Valea Lungă.
Archeological disclosures
The most seasoned Neolithic settlement in Romania (accepted to have been laid out around 6500 BC) having a place with the Starčevo-Kőrös-Criș culture was found at the north of Valea Lungă. Burial places and houses from this settlement were uncovered somewhere in the range of 1960 and 1994.
Legends
As indicated by legend, the Hoia-Baciu Backwoods is a focal point of paranormal peculiarities. Many phantom stories and metropolitan legends add to its prominence as a vacation spot. Cynics say these are only stories for amusement and come up short on testable proof.
