New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr reached a major milestone during the WBBL Challenger clash on 11 December 2025, completing 1,000 runs in the Women’s Big Bash League. The 25-year-old came into the match 15 runs short of the landmark and achieved it with a superb fighting knock.
Kerr’s Fighting Effort Not Enough for Sixers

She kept Sydney Sixers in the hunt until the final overs, but the side eventually fell 11 runs short, ending their campaign for the season. Kerr was the top scorer for the Sixers on the night.

New Chapter with Sydney Sixers
