Chelsea is looking to make an unlikely Premier League move in order to cash in on goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED?
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported that the Blues goalkeeper is moving to Sunderland for a transfer in the neighborhood of £21.5 million ($29 million) by the Mackems to strengthen their squad returning to the Premier League.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Despite a brilliant loan spell at Strasbourg last season, with 31 games played in the Ligue 1 side that reached the Conference League, Chelsea decided to cash in rather than retain him in their squad.
DID YOU KNOW ?
When Petrovic does move, Chelsea‘s number one and two goalkeepers would therefore be Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, though it has not been confirmed that the deal isn’t as complete as first suggested; Petrovic is still drawing interest from other parties as reported by Jacob Steinberg from The Guardian.
