IPL 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has issued new rules regarding players’ families, travel policy, orange cap and purple cap for IPL 2025.

The first match of the 18th season will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22. All 10 teams are preparing vigorously for the season. Meanwhile, on March 4, BCCI has implemented new rules for players and teams. Under the new rules, BCCI has strictly prohibited the presence of family members around the PMOA area (Player and Match Official Area) during and before the match.
According to the new rules of BCCI, all the players will now have to travel by team bus only. Family members will not be able to enter the players’ dressing room. According to Cricbuzz, a meeting was held recently regarding this, after which all the teams have been informed about the change in rules. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has focused on the access and movement of the players through the new rules.
- Teams will get 2 main nets and 1 side wicket. Open nets will not be used.
- If a team finishes its practice early, the other team will not be able to use that wicket.
- Practice will not be allowed on match days.
- Only accredited staff will be allowed to enter the dressing rooms and the field.
- Family and friends of the players will not be allowed to enter the dressing room.
- All players are required to use the team bus for practice.
- No employee will be allowed entry without PMOA recognition.
- Despite the presence of a hitting net, it is advised to avoid hitting the LED board.
- Players and staff will not sit in front of the LED board.
- Players will have to wear orange and purple caps.
- Wearing floppy and sleeveless jerseys will not be allowed in the post-match presentation.
- Only 12 accredited support staff will be allowed on match days, which will include the team doctor.
- To change the jersey number, it is necessary to give information 24 hours in advance.
