A league even bigger than the IPL is set to begin in 2026, called the World Club Championship League. This league will be played on the lines of the Champions League T20 (CLT20). The tournament was discontinued after 2014. In this tournament, the top teams from leagues played across the world qualify to participate.
Now, in the World Club Championship League, the top 3 teams from the IPL, along with top teams from leagues like the PSL, Big Bash, SA20, and The Hundred, could face off against each other.

Let us remind you, when the Champions League T20 first started in 2009, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) won the title twice each. However, due to low viewership, the tournament was shut down. But now, the CLT20 is set to make a comeback in a new form.
