Sports Desk, Raipur (Chhattisgarh). Former New Zealand explosive opener Martin Guptill made fans crazy by playing a stormy innings of 160 runs in the Legend 90 League. Playing for Chhattisgarh Warriors at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Martin Guptill scored 160 runs in just 49 balls with the help of 16 sixes and 12 fours.
Martin Guptill and Rishi Dhawan, who won the toss and came to open the innings for Chhattisgarh Warriors, started off well but then changed gears in a way that the Big Boys bowlers would not have even imagined.
A storm of boundaries came
Guptill smashed an unbeaten 160 off just 49 balls at a strike rate of 326 to guide Chhattisgarh Warriors to a massive 89-run win against Big Boys Unnikari, which was more than the opposition’s total. After a quiet start, once Guptill found the rhythm, he reached his half-century in just 21 balls.
The real explosion happened in the 12th over, when he scored 29 runs in one over of Ishaan Malhotra and scored a century in just 34 balls. After this, he added 50 more runs in the next 13 balls and took the team to a score of 240. During his innings, he hit 12 fours and 16 sixes.
