The Reds were knocked out of Europe after being penalized for a terrible protective mistake and a bad night for their forwards.

Liverpool played well on the night. The only thing that came late in the game was that it was a perfect gift, with Ousmane Dembele taking advantage of some quality defending from Ibrahima Konate to break the impasse.
Still, despite Jarrell Quansah carrying the ball across the goalpost and creating several great chances, the Reds’ uncharacteristically lax forward line failed to overcome Donnarumma, with Mohamed Salah again being particularly ineffective.
