City’s sins have been a big reason for their poor season, and they suffered again on Saturday when Ederson let Callum Hudson- Odoi’s shot go through his arm and inside his near post in a 1- 0 loss at Nottingham Forest.

It was not the first time the Brazilian has let his side down this season. Ederson made multitudinous miscalculations in City’s disappointing titleholders League crusade, and his form in the league saw him dropped for Stefan Ortega for the trip to Liverpool in November. He has handed three notable assists this season, making him the highest-scoring goalkeeper in Premier League history, but overall, his net is a deficiency as his playmaking capability can no longer compensate for his miscalculations.
Ederson has been fortunate that his deputy Ortega has also had his problems, and Guardiola couldn’t hide his wrathfulness after the German’s weak attempt to stop Christian Norgaard’s title during a 2- 2 draw at Brentford in January.
