United missed a couple of chances to double their lead, as Noussair Mazraoui’s blitz was superbly saved by David Raya, while the goalkeeper also got in the way of Joshua Zirkzee’s back heel. The Red Devils eventually succumbed to the callers’ pressure after Declan Rice’s shot was wide, though they could have snared palm in the final nanosecond, but the giant Raya nearly blocked Fernandes’ shot.
