New Delhi. Pakistan cricket team’s bowling largely revolves around Shaheen Shah Afridi. But Shaheen was thrashed by New Zealand batsman Glenn Phillips on Saturday.
In the first ODI being played in Lahore, Phillips hit hard in the last over bowled by Shaheen and also completed his first ODI century.
Batting first, New Zealand scored 330 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 50 overs on the basis of Phillips’ century. Phillips faced 74 balls and scored an unbeaten 106 runs with the help of seven sixes and six fours. During this, his strike rate was 143.24.

By the 49th over, New Zealand had scored 305 runs. Phillips was playing on 83 runs. Shaheen bowled the first two balls wide. After this, Phillips hit a four on the first ball bowled officially. He hit sixes on the next two balls. By taking two runs on the fourth ball, Phillips completed his first ODI century for which he played 72 balls. On the fifth ball, this right-handed batsman hit another four and took the wind out of Shaheen’s sails.
One run came on the last ball. In this way, New Zealand took a total of 25 runs in this over bowled by Shaheen. If we look at Shaheen’s statistics, he gave 88 runs in 10 overs and took three wickets.
