A director from Chelsea states that Enzo Maresca’s role is “100 per cent” assured this season, in spite of the club’s underwhelming results.
What transpired?
Chelsea have dropped from being Premier League title challengers to sixth place in the standings and have secured only two victories in their last nine league matches within a few months. Nonetheless, Blues director Jonathan Goldstein states that head coach Maresca is “performing exceptionally well” and his position is safe for the foreseeable future.
What did the director of Chelsea state?
Goldstein stated on Bloomberg TV: “He is performing excellently.” Chelsea have begun the season exceptionally well. In the past six weeks, the team has definitely strengthened its position. However, Enzo has clearly excelled in uniting the team and showcasing their talent.
When questioned about whether Maresca would stay with the team for the remainder of the season, he answered: “100 percent.”
Overall Perspective
Chelsea sit only one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City with 13 matches remaining in the season, have a strong opportunity for qualifying for the Champions League next season, and are among the contenders to clinch the 2024-25 Europa Conference League title. Should they not reach either of these objectives, Maresca’s role could be at risk this summer.
What comes next?
Chelsea will aim to return to victory when they face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday, after experiencing a 3-0 loss to Brighton in their previous match.
