The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England has witnessed record-breaking demand, with ticket sales already surpassing those of the 2017 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup. More than 100,000 tickets have been sold, even though the tournament is still five months away from its scheduled opening on 12 June at Edgbaston.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the milestone, stating that “more than 100k tickets have already been sold.” The tournament will feature 12 teams and will run for 24 days, comprising 33 matches across seven iconic venues, including Lord’s.
New Zealand enter the tournament as defending champions, and the record ticket sales highlight the rapidly growing popularity of women’s cricket worldwide.
