The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has received an overwhelming response for the sale of two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises after extending the bidding deadline twice.
In an official press release, the PCB confirmed that 12 parties have formally submitted bids within the stipulated timeframe, highlighting the league’s growing global appeal.
According to the board, the bidders represent five continents, including the United States, Australia, Canada, the UAE, and Pakistan, underlining the PSL’s rising commercial value on the international stage.
The results of the bidding process are expected to be announced on December 27, while the final owners and teams will be decided through an open competitive bidding scheduled to take place at the Islamabad Convention Centre on January 8.
The PSL began in 2016 with five teams, with Multan Sultans joining the league in 2018. The upcoming season is set to start on March 26 and conclude on May 3, directly clashing with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
