Team India has suffered a major setback before the Asia Cup 2025. Vice-captain Shubman Gill has fallen ill and may be out of the tournament. Gill will also not be able to play in the Duleep Trophy starting on August 28. Vice-captain Ankit Kumar will now take over the reins of the team in place of North Zone captain Gill. The BCCI received information about Gill’s health a day earlier. He is currently resting in Chandigarh.
